Nick Turner is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS).
Nick lives in Devon with his wife and children enjoying all the benefits of country life, including, as he says, popping down to Cornwall for a day's sailing or fishing.
Enjoying many sports including his beloved rugby where he represented his country, his life style is enviable and his knowledge and enthusiasm for the region infectious.
Born in Somerset Nick, is a West Countryman through and through. He studied Estate Management in Southampton and practised in Gloucestershire with a leading firm of Chartered Surveyors dealing with weekly livestock markets, surveys and valuations, together with country house sales and conducting property auctions.
He is a member (and a former chairman) of the Exeter Association of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He was a member of the Council of the Incorporated Society of Valuers and Auctioneers, chairman of its Estate Agency committee and Professional Practise committee. Nick was chairman of its junior member's organisation and a founding member of the Young Professionals Group, which brought together solicitors, accountants, actuaries, barristers, surveyors, valuers and auctioneers.
A move to a major international surveying company in London preceded his appointment as area director for a national firm of estate agents, surveyors, valuers and auctioneers in Exeter.
His love of buildings and industry experience was extended while director of a specialist paint and coatings company where, among his many responsibilities, he dealt with specialist coatings for restoration and renovation projects. The company's clients included the National Trust and English Heritage and supplied much of the internal coatings to the restored reading room in the British Museum. His firm's coatings were used in the BBC's 'Dream House' presented by Carol Vorderman and even for the canons on the replica boat 'The Matthew' moored in Bristol Harbour.
